Traffic on Sgr-Jmu highway restored

Srinagar, May 22: Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was thrown open on Friday after being suspended for traffic on Thursday due to landslides and shooting stones.
A traffic official told KNT that only stranded vehicles were allowed to ply on the highway. “Stranded vehicles, including trucks and SRTC buses, were allowed to ply on the highway after remaining stuck since Thursday morning due to landslides and shooting stones at Panthyal.”
Srinagar-Jammu highway is open in the pandemic for the movement of vehicles carrying essential items. On Thursday, when the highway was shutdown, over 2,000 vehicles got stranded at various places. (KNT)
