Srinagar, May 5: Authorities on Tuesday extended the PSA detention of former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, senior leader of her party Sartaj Madni, and National Conference general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, a local news agency KNO reported.
Quoting highly placed sources the news agency said that Home Department this evening extended the detention of Mehbooba Mufti under Public Safety Act by three months.
Meanwhile, authorities also extended PSA detention of NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar and PDP leader Sartaj Madni.
Mehbooba Mufti and both these leaders were detained under PSA on February 6 this year. They have been under detention since August 5, 2019, when Centre announced its decision to withdraw J&K’s special status and divided it into two union territories.
