Jammu, Apr 11 : Hours after arresting an overground worker of Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit, police on his disclosure on Saturday raided one of the jails and recovered SIM cards and mobile phones from the prisoners.
Reliable sources here said that one JeM OGW was arrested this morning from bordering Ranbir Singh Pura area of Jammu in a joint operation of Jammu Police and intelligence agencies.
They said that the OGW identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Beigh, resident of Handwara, Kupwara was arrested with Hawala money along with SIM cards.
“He was also in touch with militants in Pakistan,” sources said and added that acting swiftly on his disclosure, a team of Jammu Police also raided one of the jails and during checking recovered mobile phones, two SIM cards, one charger, one headphone and one memory card from the possessions of three persons including one Pakistani.
Sources said that the arrested OGW had come to Jammu to meet his relatives lodged in Jail and he was nabbed from the house of a local resident in Chakroi and he was also taken into custody. “A case has been registered and investigations started,” sources added.
However, despite several attempts made by UNI, there was no response from police for an official confirmation regarding recovery from the prisoners.
