Srinagar: Soon after the convicts in Nirbhaya gang rape case were hanged, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo Friday demanded similar punishment to those involved in the rape and murder of eight-year-old girl Asifa from Kathua.
In a statement issued to wire service Yatoo demanded that those involved in Asifa’s rape and murder should also be hanged.
Yatoo said that finally after seven years, the struggle of Asha Devi comes to an end but there are many more mothers who want justice for their daughters. “But, we as a society should try to ensure that such incidence never takes place,” he said.
He hoped that judiciary will improve the loopholes which took seven years for a mother to get justice.
Meanwhile, Yatoo also appealed Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to reopen Asiya and Nelofer case so that justice will be delivered to them as well –(KNO)
