Bandipora, Mar 18 : District administration Bandipora has set up five quarantine wards at five different places as a precautionary measure to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak in the district.
According to wire service five quarantine wards have been set up with a capacity of 55 beds in the district as a precautionary measure.
An official said that these wards have been set up in District hospital Bandipora, Dak Bungalow Ayathmulla, Irrigation colony Sumbal, SDH Dawar and Crescent Nursing Home Bandipora. He said that the quarantine ward set up at Dak Bungalow Ayathmulla has a capacity of 24 beds, similarly, quarantine ward set up at Irrigation colony Sumbal has a capacity of 15 beds. “SDH Dawar has a capacity of 10 beds while DH Bandipora and Crescent Nursing home has a capacity of 3 beds each.”The official said that two control rooms have also been set up at the district level which are functional 24*7 at DC office Bandipora and CMO office Bandipora respectively. “Six control rooms have been established at block level also while 5 rapid response teams and 70 village-level surveillance teams have also been established in the district.”
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Tajamul while giving details told KNO that they have established 5 quarantine wards at five different places in the district as a precautionary measure. He said that they have identified 138 persons have travel history of abroad and out of these 138 persons, 77 have been put under home quarantine while 38 are under surveillance and 23 have completed surveillance. He also said that they have set up separate RTI/ILI OPDs at DH Bandipora, CHC Sumbal, CHC Hajin, and SDH Dawar. “If any person who shows symptoms of sneezing, cough, fever, etc. while visiting these places for any kind of medical check-up at will be given light pink color OPD tickets for easy differentiation,” he said.
