Srinagar: The Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has called for increased surveillance on all fronts in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure safety and security of the people.
Sources said that LG gave the direction to all the security agencies in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that the LG was given an assessment of the prevailing security situation in the Jammu and Kashmir wherein he laid stress on realtime coordination between security forces and agencies for ensuring safety of the people.
The Lieutenant Governor has also stressed on the need to ensure safety of the general public. He (LG) advised the administration to give due consideration to the genuine needs of people in the current scenario.
Sources said that Lieutenant Governor further emphasized on the need for constant alertness, preparedness and synergy among various departments and agencies to enable dealing with an emerging situation in a coordinated and effective manner.
“The LG reiterated the need to constantly maintain a close watch on the ground situation and underlined the importance of sustained efforts to bring peace and harmony in the society for the overall benefit of people,” sources maintained.
Sources said that the LG lauded the role of Police and CRPF in maintaining law and order and ensuring security in J&K and advised heightened surveillance on all fronts to ensuring safety and security of the people.
Sources said that top officials have also briefed the LG about the present internal security situation and many important matters relating to law and order in J&K.
Sources said that he also emphasized upon the vital importance of regular review the security of all protected premises and also discussed various issues relating to welfare of security personnel and their families (KNS)
