Srinagar, March 10: Despite tall claims of the government to improve the health sector in the Kashmir valley, patients visiting district hospital Anantnag, expressed resentment against authorities for failing to repair defunct washrooms in the area.
Scores of patients at hospital Tuesday said condition of the hospital washrooms can lead to infections as authorities have failed to clean them on daily basis.
Adil Mushtaq, a local told JKNS that the hospital is catering to hundreds of patients on a daily basis, and lacks proper washrooms, resulting in inconvenience for attendants and patients as well.
“There is an every risk of spreading diseases and foul smell is emanating from the washrooms,” he said.
Another patient at the hospital Ghulam Ali said there is poor sanitation in the hospital and foul smell emanates from the washrooms. He urged hospital administration should look into the issue as soon as possible.“If such things continue, it can lead to serious infection to the patients and attendants,” he said.
A senior health official at the hospital said they will look into the matter and strict action would be initiated against the officials who are not performing their duties properly.
