Srinagar, March 08: The residents of Daharmuna area of central Kashmir’s Budgam Sunday expressed resentment against government for failing to construct a building for a local high school.
They said that Government Girls Middle School Darharmuna was upgraded to government high school in 2016 but due to non availability of land the construction was delayed.
Ali Mohammad Peer, a local said they have given the land in the previous year to construct the school building but nothing has been done so far.
He alleged that government was delaying the construction.
Another local, Adil Sadiq said due to delay in school up gradation, the students are facing problems. “Despite repeated attempts to concerned officials, things have remained unchanged on ground,” he said.
A senior official at School Department told JKNS that an amount of 96 lakh has been approved for school building.
“19 lakh has been approved for filling of land site. The new estimate is under process,” he said
7 months on, Baramulla hospital’s CT Scan machine defunct
March 09: Patients suffering from different ailments are suffering as the CT Scan machine in District Hospital Baramulla is dysfunctional from the past seven months.
The vital machine developed a snag seven months ago, forcing patients to opt for private clinics and hospitals where rates are much higher than government hospitals.
Syed Mohammad Khan, a resident of Baramulla said sevarl months have passed and the machine is still lying unutilised because of the unavailability of the required equipment.
“The patients are suffering. They are compelled to go to Srinagar hospitals that are already bearing huge rush of patients,” he said.
Dozens of patients from north Kashmir, who need CT scan are forced to visit Srinagar with resident saying that trauma patients loose golden hours due to defunct facility.
“It is very unfortunate that for six months the government has failed to repair the machine in the district hospital, he said.
The CT scan machine was installed at the hospital in 2014. Since then it benefitted patients in north Kashmir, who otherwise had move to Srinagar to get it done.
A senior official at Hospital told JKNS that CT scan machine has developed a technical snag adding it would be functional next week.(JKNS)
