Man shot dead in Tral: Civilian dies in Srinagar grenade attack

Tral:  A car dealer was shot dead by suspected militants in restive Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A police official told KNT that a civilian was shot dead while he was driving alone in his private vehicle on Tral-Gamraz road.
The official added that the victim received a bullet in his head. Though he was shifted to Sub-District Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
The victim was identified as Shabir Ahmed Bhat (30), son of Muhammad Sidiqu Bhat, a resident of Tral Payeen.
Government Forces cordoned off the area after the incident and conducted searches in the adjacent areas. Sources said that the victim was dealing in car business.
Meanwhile, reports said that unknown persons lobbed a grenade that exploded with a big bang outside MR Gunj Police Station in old Srinagar city. Reports said that a civilian sustained injuries in the blast.
Sources added that the grenade was hurled towards a CRPF post that is located outside police station.

A CRPF official confirmed the incident saying that two civilians were injured in the blast. One among them succumbed to his injuries while another has been admitted in the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Nabi Ahangar, a resident of Astan Mohalla Zaina Kadal while the injured was identified as Rafiq Ahmed. (KNT)
