Srinagar: Body of an 18-year-old youth was fished out from river Jhelum in this summer capital, official sources said here on Friday. They said panic gripped Shivpora in the city when some locals saw body of a youth floating in Jhelum on Thursday evening. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was fished out. The deceased was later identified as Shahid Fayaz, a resident of Khul in south Kashmir district of Kulgam. “Shahid was undertaking coaching in a tuition centre in Srinagar for NEET,” they said. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
