Division of assets between J&K and Ladakh UTs: Govt seeks action taken report from PSUs

Srinagar : In a significant development, the government on Thursday sought status report from all the heads of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir about the action taken on its directions issued on January 29 this year.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the Finance department today wrote to all heads of the PSUs to submit action taken report on the instructions issued by it.

On January 29, the government directed all the PSUs/ autonomous bodies / societies to immediately complete their pending accounts, in any case before end of March, 2020.

It has also directed them that Boards shall be constituted immediately and the list of Director on the BOD needs to be updated with Registrar of Companies.

It has also asked them to convene the first meeting of the re-constituted boards of these PSUs at an earliest.

The directions were passed in view of the division of assets and liabilities between Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

A high-level committee was constituted by the government of India on September 9 last year for division of assets between the UTs which came into existence on October 31.

As already reported by KNO, the committee is set to submit its report to government of India and Jammu and Kashmir government—(KNO)
