LG asks DCs To Submit Monthly Report About Functioning Of Depts In District

Srinagar:  Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu has asked all the Deputy Commissioners to submit a monthly report about all the departments in the district.

An official privy to it said that he clearly told them take review meetings of every department and ensure schemes and programmes of government are implemented fully.

He also asked them to submit a report about the functioning of police regarding combating drugs, traffic, normal policing.

He said, “Lt Governor also clearly told us to submit a note every month regarding the disposal of grievances,” he told KNS.

He added that Lt Governor is very keen to bridge the gap between people and administration and wants to make officials accountable and friendly in their approach with public.

LG Murmu has also asked the Deputy Commissioners and Secretaries to ensure the people are benefitted without any distinction.

“My priority is poorest of poor and deserving should get benefitted first. I will hold every one of you accountable personally if benefit of government programme and schemes don’t trickle down to deserving persons,” a secretary level official quoted him as saying.  (KNS).
