Srinagar: Police in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir detained a former militant and booked him under Public Safety Act.
Official sources identified the former militant as Ghulam Muhammad Tantray son of Habibullah Tantray. Sources added that he was arrested last month on charges of militancy and today was booked under controversial PSA and shifted to Srinagar Central Jail.
Another youth who had been booked under PSA was released on Friday. Official sources told Kashmir News Trust that Manzoor Maqbool Mir of Dardsun Kupwara who was languishing in Srinagar Central Jail was released by police.
Yesterday, authorities had released another youth from Central Jail who was also hailing from Kupwara district. (KNT)
