Jammu, Feb 11: A Jammu based textile designer Varuna Anand was invited by the Indian High commission London to speak on Pashmina Shawl making.
A communique issued here on Tuesday said that the High Commission of India, in London organised an event to showcase the Art of Pashmina making by the artisans and craftsman from Kashmir.The event was held at The St James Court London attended by over 120 people, it said.
The High commissioner Ms Ruchi Ghanashyam, gave the welcome address and praised the locals of Jammu and Kashmir for their extreme skill in producing these inimitable Textiles enjoyed by collectors and Textile enthusiasts the world over.
Jammu based Textile Designer Ms Varuna Anand, who has been promoting this Art across India and the world through exhibitions and online sales, also spoke on the occasion, which was a celebration of the Art of Pashmina making and all lives connected with this Art.An important cottage industry of J&K and these Shawls being one of the most venerated Textile the world over.
