After spending 14 days in isolation, samples are taken from COVID-19 suspects twice within a gap of 24 hours and those samples are sent to microbiology laboratory.

Reliable sources told news agency KNT on 10 May this month, 22 samples were taken from the people who had completed duration of 14 days in isolation ward. After 24 hours, samples of these patients were again taken. These samples were sent to CD Hospital Srinagar.

Even after the passing of five days, Trauma Hospital Bijbehara has not been to provide the reports to these people. When the victims started enquiring about their reports, they were informed, that all the samples have gone missing.

When contacted Medical Superintendent Trauma Hospital Bijbehara, Dr Showkat Ahmed Parray, showed a receipt that CD Hospital had given to them. The receipt reads: “22 samples received from Trauma Hospital Bijbehara on 12/5/2020 at CD Hospital.” The receipt is duly signed by one namely Raj Kumar.
“Now where is our fault? We deposited samples at CD Hospital but they didn’t return saying the machine was out of order for couple of days,” Dr Parray said.

Medical Superintendent CD Hospital Dr Saleem Tak said it is the baby of Microbiology Department. “Let me talk to them and I will come back to you,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the directions of District Development Commissioner Ananantnag, Bashir Ahmed Dar, samples of these 22 patients were again taken today.
