COVID-19: India witnesses highest ever single-day spike with 4987 cases; tally stands at 90,927

New Delhi, May 17: India’s Covid-19 count inched towards 91,000-mark as the country recorded its highest ever single-day spike with 4,987 fresh cases on Sunday, pushing the overall tally to 90,927, Union Health Ministry updated.
As per the lastest data, the country has recorded 120 fatalities in the past 24 hrs, taking the death toll to 2,872.
There is a considerable improvement witnessed on the recovery front in the past one day, as 3,955 patients were cured across the nation, taking the total number of recovery cases to 34,108.
Active cases under the medical supervision at present stands at 53,946, the ministry said.
