Late Tanveer’s former colleague recalls his dedication towards work

Srinagar, May 14: Condolences continue to pour in over the untimely demise of Tanveer-ul-Ahad, editor-in-chief of GNS and daily newspaper Kashmir Glory.

Paying tributes to Tanveer-ul-Ahad, Sheikh Farooq, senior colleague at daily Alsafa, a famous bilingual Urdu and English newspaper of the times, recalled his dedication towards the work.

“He joined as an operator (designer) but he always wanted to learn. He would inquire into source of news even though it was not his domain. He was all ears about the source of news,” Farooq said.

“One day, I just said something in anger to him in connection with the work.  He all of sudden hugged me and said I love you sir. These words keep haunting me,” Farooq said, adding, “It has been almost a decade since we parted away on professional lines but he remained in contact. He would often call to inquire about the wellbeing of all colleagues. He was a great human being. May Allah rest his soul in peace and give strengthen to his family to bear irreparable loss. ”

His other former colleagues Mir Mushtaq from Pampore, Mushtaq Dhar, Javaid Reshi besides others also paid condolences and prayed almighty to bless his soul and grant him place in jannat.

 

In a condolence message, J&K School Education Officers Forum district Kupwara said that the demise of the young and promising journalist is the great loss for journalism.

“Tanveer was a great human being having unique qualities. In a short span of time he had earned a great name and fame in his field. He was known for his efficiency and honesty in the field of journalism,” Mairaj Geelani, District Coordinator JKSEOF Kupwara said.

“It was Allah’s will to call him back to the eternal world and we have to bow before His will,” Geelani said and extended extend heartfelt condolences to the journalists and media fraternity of district Kupwara in general and with the family members of the departed soul in particular.

 

“May Allah bless the departed soul with jannat ul firdous and give patience and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” he said, adding, “To follow the footprints of late Mr. Tanveer-ul Ahad in the field of journalism will be a great tribute to the departed soul.”
