Srinagar, May 14: Property worth lakhs of rupees has been destroyed in a devastating fire on Thursday in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said.
They said fire broke out in a shop at Samboora market in Pulwama this morning. However, before the fire tenders could reach the spot, fire spread to adjacent shops, they said.
Fire tenders were rushed from different areas and leaping flames were finally controlled. However, four shops and other property worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes in the incident, they said adding the cause of fire was not known.
There was no report of loss of life or injury, they said adding police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.
