J&K records 9th COVID-19 death  

32-year old man from Old City becomes youngest victim
Srinagar, May 7: A 32- year-old man from Srinagar’s old city became the youngest COVID-19 casualty here on Thursday. With his death the number of persons who have died due to this infection across J&K has risen to 9.
“The deceased was attending to his father admitted at the Oncology department at Super Speciality Hospital Shireen Bagh,” local news GNS quoted Nodal officer GMC, Dr Saleem Khan as having said.
The youth hailing from Alamgari Bazaar according to the Medical Superintendent of SMHS hospital Dr Nazir Choudhary was admitted to the hospital on May 5 with pneumonia. “He died late last night and samples came out to be positive at around 9:00 PM on Wednesday,” he said, adding, “the body has been handed over to the family for last rites to be carried out as per the COVID-19 protocol”.
The GNS said that the man had no travel history to any affected place outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Out of nine COVID-19 victims eight are from Kashmir and one from Jammu.
