132 families hit by landslide to get land on lease: Administrative Council

To provide relief to the landslide victims of village Saddal in District Udhampur, the Administrative Council, which met under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu on Wednesday accorded sanction to the grant of 5 marla land on lease basis each to the 132 families affected due to the natural calamity in 2014.

As per the decision, 71 families shall be provided land in village Mansar and 61 affected families shall be given land in village Debriah in District Udhampur, for their rehabilitation.

The Administrative Council also accorded sanction to the transfer of Shamilat (Kahcharai) land measuring 60 kanals situated in village Chandhara in District Pulwama to the School Education Department for establishing Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pulwama.

Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also sitting Member Parliament from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency soon after the natural calamity took place, also donated Rs 70 lakhs from personal resources for raising hutments with all basic facilities like solar lights, water supply and essential commodities.

He had been time to time taking up the concern with the respective administrations.

Pertinent to mention here that the team of Archeological Survey of India had also visited to the spot and conducted survey before the construction work set into motion.
