Srinagar, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday appointed Abdul Majid Bhat as Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal (JKST).
“In the interest of administration, Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary to the Government, Cooperatives Department, holding additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, is transferred and posted as Chairman, J&K Special Tribunal,” reads an order issued by the government.
He has been asked to take over the charge after the retirement on superannuation of Salma Hamid (IAS), Chairperson, J&K Special Tribunal on 30 April.
“Consequent upon the above, Navin Kumar Choudhary, IAS (JK:1994), Principal Secretary to the Government, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, holding additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Technical Education, Agriculture & Horticulture Departments, shall also hold the charge of Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives Department, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” reads the order.
“Shailendra Kumar, IAS (JK:1995), Principal Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, shall also hold the charge of Administrative Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” the order reads. (KNO)
