COVID-19: Kashmiri man dies in UK

Srinagar, Apr 9: A retired government employee from Kashmir who had tested positive for COVID-19 died at Kent in United Kingdom.
The retired employee of the Sales Tax Department, originally a resident of Solina and at present Jeelan Abad Peerbagh Srinagar had tested positive for the dreaded disease and lost the battle for life after 12 days at a hospital in the UK.
Family members of the deceased man told Global News Service (GNS) over the phone that the victim and his wife traveled to UK in November last year. His two sons are settled there.
“They reached UK on 27 November last year. One of victim’s son, who is a doctor in UK, had contracted the disease and it got transmitted to the victim as well as his wife but unfortunately, the man died on Wednesday,” they said, adding that the “Deceased was buried as per his will there. His wife and son have recovered.”
