Srinagar: Despite newspapers being put in the list of essential services, the government run Information Department is making Srinagar based dailies starve for government advertisements in these tough times.
Bi-lingual daily, Alsafa News, and its allied publication English Daily, Precious Kashmir, have not received a single centimeter of advertisement from the Information Department during the past three days.
It seems that the officials have no respect for the words of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who has asked the people at the helm to ensure that there are no job cuts due to financial crisis following the outbreak of COVID-19. Even the messages to prevent COVID-19 being released by the government are not being forwarded to these newspapers to create awareness.
