Tangmarg youth arrested for fake claims of COVID-19 antidote

Tangmarg, Mar 20: At a time when medical experts across the globe are striving hard to come up with an antidote for deadly novel coronavirus that has killed thousands and engulfed dozens of countries including Jammu and Kashmir a self-styled youth from Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was apprehended for fake claims of having made an antidote of the virus.

According to Wire Service Station House Officer (SHO) Tangmarg Faizan Ali (KPS) said a boy was apprehended for making false claimsĀ  of having prepared antidote of novel coronavirus on social media platforms.

Faizan Ali (KPS) toldĀ  that we have apprehend a local young boy whose audio clip has gone viral on social media platforms asking people to make sure this audio clip reaches the masses having prepared some cure for the deadly virus.

In the audio clip he claimed to have prepared some antidote of novel coronavirus with a mix of some vegetable and honey locally known asĀ  “Tethwan & honey” and advised people to visit him for the cure, he said. He said the arrested boy runs a timber shop locally and has made his audio clip viral on social media causing disturbance among panic among the masses.

Faizan Ali (KPS) furthermore said that apprehend youth has been kept in detention and legal proceedings were initiated against him. He identified the arrested youth as Mohammad Hussain Kumar son of Ali Mohammad Kumar a resident ofĀ  Mochikhoda Tangmarg Baramulla.

Meanwhile, district police BaramullaĀ  in its statement has askedĀ  people to take advice from medical practitioners only and not to fall for quack looking to make a quick buck and profit from the pandemicā€”(KNO)
