COVID-19: 10 shops, hotel sealed in Bandipora for violating govt orders 

Bandipora: Authorities on Saturday sealed 10 shops and a hotel in main market Bandipora for violating the government orders after restrictions were imposed in the district under section 144 as a precautionary measure against spread of COVID-19.

According to wire service –Kashmir News Observer (KNO), ten shops and a hotel were sealed by first class magistrate Bandipora for violating the government orders.

An official said that 9 meat shops, one chicken shop and a hotel were sealed after they were found violating the government orders.

As per KNO, he said that authorities had imposed restrictions under section 144 in the district as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19 but despite restrictions, these shops were open in violation of the government orders.

A team of officials including Tehsildar Bandipora, officials of Municipal Committee Bandipora along with police on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza raided main market Bandipora and sealed these shops.

Tehsildar Bandipora, Rauf Iqbal said that they sealed 10 shops and a hotel as they had defied restrictions imposed in the district under section 144.

“We have been warning them not to violate government orders but despite repeated warnings these shops were open and we had to take appropriate action against them, ” he said—(KNO)
