Altaf Thakur urges admin to screen non-locals who entered in Valley

Srinagar: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur Friday hailed the efforts of Srinagar Municpal Corporation and doctors, paramedics working in SKIMS, SMHS and other peripheral hospitals in fighting Coronavirus by providing treatment to the positive cases and suspects of Coronavirus. He said that there are no words to explain the bravery of these men who are fighting virus by taking care of suspects and other patients quarantined so far.

In a statement issued to KNO, Thakur said that, however, there were some complaints of travelers coming by road and air are not being properly screened and urged the J&K admin to take all necessary measure to ensure that all the travelers and passengers who come by road and air should be screened properly and if any suspect is found he/she may be quarantined properly.

Thakur said that a large chunk of non-local labourers have managed to enter J&K and majority of them have not been screened with the result there is a panic among the local population wherever these non J&K work force is staying. My humble request to the administration is to stop the entry of these people into Kashmir and those who have already entered the Valley must be screened and kept in isolation for two weeks.

He urged the SMC mayor to take all the measures in maintaining proper hygiene across Srinagar while hailing his efforts in mobilizing entire SMC staff in tough times who are keeping areas clean by spraying anti-infection sprays etc—(KNO)
