PM’s “Jal Hai tou Jeevan” seems no impact in Handwara school

Srinagar, Mar 18:  Government High school Shatgund Bala in education Zone Mawer Handwara is facing acute shortage of potable water since long and the concern department is watching as mute spectator.

According to reports the school comprising of 220 students and they are facing tough times in absence of potable drinking waters in the premises, especially the girl students and the female staff of the school.

The school authorities told they have informed the concerned authorities several times regarding the issue but their plea fell deaf ear by the officials.

The resident of the area said that the slogan of Prime Minister Narinder Modi “Jal Hai tou Jeevan” seems no impact for this school. They have demanded immediate restoration the potable drinking facility in the school.

However when KNS contacted to in-charge Executive Officer PHE Division Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad, he said there is need of some pipes and he will issue the tender notice for the same. He further said it is our priority to restore the portable water supply to the schools and hopefully within a week time the water supply in the school will be restored. (KNS)
