Rajouri, Mar 17 : The Mechanical Engineering department of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon kick-started the snow clearance operation on historic Mughal Road from Poonch side.
Pertinent to mention here that the historic Mughal Road was closed in the month of November 2019 and is lying close since than due to snow accumulation.
Assistant Engineer of Mechanical Engineering Department, Rajouri division, Tariq Mahmood, who is supervisory officer for the operation from Poonch side, said that on Tuesday afternoon, the men and machinery was pressed to start the process of snow clearance.
“The snow clearance operation was started from 21 Kilometers point at Doogran and our task is to clear the road upto Pir Ki Gali.” Assistant Engineer said.
He further said they are hopeful to clear snow from start point to Pir Ki Gali in Poonch side by three to four weeks – (KNO)
