PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama imposed a fine on 106 unauthorizedly parked and unattended vehicles here today, during a drive, launched by the district administration to decongest the district roads.
He was accompanied by Tehsildar, ARTO and Executive officer Municipal Committee. During the drive scores of illegally parked vehicles obstructing roads were towed by municipal authorities, besides seizing unattended vehicles. A fine was also imposed on the owners of such vehicles. Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that ample parking space has been made available at Old bus stand where people can park their vehicles. He appealed people to avail the facility and cooperate with administration in decongesting town and streamlining traffic movement across the district. He warned of strict action under law against those who fail to follow the traffic rules. The DDC instructed towing of illegally parked and unattended vehicles saying that the District Administration is committed to rationalize traffic management in the town. He added that unattended and unlawfully parked vehicles shall be seized and owners will be fined under newly amended Motor Vehicles Act.
