Two militant sympathizers arrested, Arms and Ammunition recovered :Police

Srinagar: Handwara police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two militant sympathizers and have recovered arms and ammunition from thir possession in Kralgund area of Handwara.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said that a joint team of Army’s 30RR, 92 Bn CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police jointly launched the Naka at

Panthachowk kralgund/Ananwan Hajan crossing. During surprise checking of the Vehicles and Pedestrians, two suspicious persons on seeing the naka checking tried to escape from the spot but chased and apprehended by the naka party, a police statement said.

The police have identified the alleged militant sympathizers as Nazir Ahmed Wani and Bashir Ahmed Wani, both residents of Sheikhpora Tarathpora, Villgam and on their personal search, a bag has been recovered and during search of the bag, one AK 74, 3 Magazines, 7.62 mm ammunition (147) , 1 Chinese Pistol, 3 pistol magazines, 24 Chinese pistol rounds , one UBGL had been recovered a police spokesman said in a statement.

Police have registered a case under FIR NO 16/2020 U/S 7/25 Indian Arms Act, 13,18,20 UA(P) Act in Kralgund Police station and started further investigations (KNS)
