Srinagar: Security forces on Saturday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, official sources said.
They said, on a tip off about the presence of militants, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Khudwani, Kulgam.
They further said that all exit points were sealed and searches launched but so far no contact was established with the militants.
Meanwhile, additional security force and police personnel have been deployed in the adjacent areas to prevent any demonstration.
