Jammu: In the killing of few Indian Air Force personnel and the abduction of Dr Rubiya Sayeed, the statements of incarcerated Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and his associate Showkat Ahmed Bakshi were recorded through video conference in TADA Court Jammu on Tuesday.
The other accused who appeared in the court in person included Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) Javaid Ahmed Mir, Muhammad Salim Nanaji, Javaid Ahmed Zargar, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, Engineer Ali Muhammad Mir, Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, Muhammad Iqbal Ghandro, Muhammad Zaman Mir and Mehraj Ahmed Sheikh.
The counsel for the accused Advocate Muhammad Aslam Ghoni and Yogesh Bakshi as per KNT were present during which the statements of JKLF Chairman Muhamamd Yasin Malik and senior JKLF leader Showkat Ahmed Bakshi were recorded through video conference. Malik is languishing in Tihar Jail while Showkat Bakshi has been lodged in a jail at Ambedkar Nagar Uttar Pradesh.
Two charge sheets have been filed by the CBI against the accused before the designated TADA court in Jammu. At least 3 FIR’s were lodged by Jammu Kashmir Police at police station Nowhata, MR Ganj and Shaheed Ganj in 1989 against the accused including Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The Court after hearing the arguments and counter arguments in the case related to the killing of Indian Air Force Personnel and abduction of Dr Rubiya Sayeed listed the case for next hearing on March 1 next month. (KNT)
