Sample Of China Returned Youth To Designated Centre In New Delhi

Srinagar: Panic gripped inside SKIMS Soura here in Srinagar city after an alleged Coronavirus infected patient was brought there in an ambulance on Wednesday night.

Hospital sources told Kashmir News Trust that the alleged patient accompanied by an attendant tried to escape from the hospital but was stopped and admitted in an isolation ward.

The incident was reported to Director Health who immediately along with a team arrived in the hospital to look into the matter. The ambulance in which the alleged patient was brought into the hospital has been seized by the hospital authorities as a precautionary measure.

Sources said that the alleged patient recently arrived in Kashmir from China where he is doing MBBS course. The youth hails from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Hospital sources added that the youth presently kept in isolated ward has already been declared virus-negative by doctors in Kolkatta and still as a precautionary measure he is being kept in the ward after developing acutee influenza.

Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Sameer Matoo told KNT that there is no threat of the this deadly virus in Kashmir but still they have taken the samples of the youth and sent that to designated centre at All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi.
