Srinagar: Son-et-Lumiere, a three day music fest was organised by army at Parihaspora, an army spokesman said in a statement on Sunday.
He said the event showcased the extraordinary local singing talents like Abid Aly, Waqar Khan and Sazid Sheikh.
Famous sufi singer, Shafi Sopori too enthralled the public with this unique sufiyana andaz. Altamash Faridi of Bollywood fame mesmerised the audience with his soulful singing. “His performance in Kashmir is encouraging for the local public who enjoyed every bit of the musical fest which presented the fusion of Sufi, Folk and Bollywood music,” the spokesman added.
The GOC Kilo Force was the Chief Guest at the event. Senior military, civil and Police officials also attended. The local students appreciated the performances of the singers and expressed that they hope more such events are conducted in the future too.
