Srinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) raid is underway at the residence of the former commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Showkat Ahmad.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the ACB has been conducting the raid in Ahmad’s house at 2nd Sector Humhama near Railway Bridge (Airport Avenue link).
They said that the raid is being conducted in connection with the corruption case registered by the probing agency after preliminary verification.
Earlier, the Housing and Urban Development had initiated an inquiry against the officer on alleged creation of posts and “illegal” promotions in the SMC.
When this report was being filed, the raid was underway. Further details are awaited. (KDC)
