Anantnag, Aug 2: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting to review the progress of Government Sponsored Schemes under MSME and Agriculture and allied sectors at DC Office Anantnag.
The DDC directed sponsoring cases of the unemployed and educated youth desirous for establishing their income-generating units in Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Dairy, Sheep Rearing, Food Processing, Cold Storage and other such sectors. He also directed to focus on High-Density Plantation, sponsoring of KCC cases. The DDC stressed for establishing Bulk Milk Plant (Milk Processing and Chilling) to bridge the gap between demand and supply. He directed JKEDI to complete the target and to ensure the establishment of Joint Liability Groups of 40 youth each under Agriculture and allied sector.
The meeting was also attended by ADs of Fisheries, Handlooms & Handicrafts, Assistant Labour Commissioner, CHO, CAHO, CAO, DSO and representatives of DIC Anantnag, JKEDI, KVIB and LDM J&K Bank.
