Srinagar, Jul 15: A teenage boy died on Monday after he drowned in a Power Canal while taking a bath in Khanan Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Reports said that a 14-year-old deceased identified as Aaqib Ahmed Magray, son of Ghulam Rasool Magray, a resident of Khanan Magray was taking a bath following which he drowned in the Canal. As soon as the news of the incident spread a team of police and local men rushed to the spot and an operation was launched to rescue the person.
However, locals said that after hours of strenuous efforts, the body of the teenager was recovered from the Canal around 6:00 PM.
Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the incident and further formalities are also in progress.
