Srinagar, Apr 8: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court (JKHC) on Monday issued a notice to the state government asking it to file a response in wake for the closure of the highway for the civilian movement on Sundays and Wednesdays.
The JKHC issued directives to the government after the bureaucrat-turned-politician Shah Faesal file an PIL seeking quashment of highway traffic ban.
“PIL (OWP) 06 of 2019 seeking quashment of Highway traffic ban was listed today before Division Bench of Hon’ble Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan,” Shah Faesal informed on Twitter.
Titled Shah Faesal vs State of J&K, the High Court has put up the matter for orders on Tuesday.
The ban of civilian movement on the highway has created major uproar in the state with all the political parties demanding the scrapping of the order.
