‘Won’t allow anyone to change Constitution: Kalsotra

Srinagar, Sep 10: All India Confederation ST/SC/OB Organization Sunday said that they will not allow the present dispensation at New Delhi to change the constitution of India as well as Jammu and Kashmir.
The Confederation had organized a mega conference to celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of Baba Sahib Bheem Rao Ambedkar at Convocation Hall University of Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion the state president of the Confederation RK Kalsotra alleged that BJP Government is hell bent to change the Indian Constitution drafted by Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar. He said there is a dire need to save reservation in promotions. “We won’t allow any body to change the contents of both Indian and Jammu and Kashmir Constitution. This Government has divided country and has deprived backward classes of their rights,” he said.
Kalsotra demanded that the GAD circular that damages the rights of backward classes should be withdrawn. He said 77th, 81st, 82nd, and 85th Parliament amendments of 1997, 2000 and 2001 should be applied to Jammu and Kashmir so that schedule cast, schedule tribe and other backward classes will reap benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, Confederation General Secretary Engineer BL Bhardwaj demanded that there should be reservation for House Boat owners and shelter be given to homeless. He also demanded reservation in private sector and postings of reserved category officers at public importance posts.
Those who addressed the conference included Mushtaq Budgami, Nazir Ahmed Khatana, Muhammad Abdullah Chatwal, Firdous Baba and Khudisfandyar.(CNS)
