Srinagar, Apr 27: The Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir established Emergency Room (ER) at PHC Wakoora, Ganderbal which is a first of its kind at Primary Health Center (PHC) level across India. The Emergency Room has all the major life saving equipments including Life pack 12 (Defibrillator), Cardiac Monitor, Portable ventilator, Vein finder and other emergency equipments. With such a facility at the PHC level, various Cardiac and Trauma emergencies can be managed at the said institute on modern scientific lines.
In addition to the equipment and drugs, the Emergency Room will be manned by trained doctors and paramedics headed by Dr. Ajaz Ahmad who is well versed with handling Trauma and Cardiac emergencies and is having international experience in this field.
The Emergency Room was inaugurated by Dr. Saleem ur Rehman, Director Health Services, Kashmir. Director Health appreciated the work of Block Medical Officer, Wakura, Dr. Waseem Gangoo and the ER Team for setting up this modern facility at PHC level. DHSK impressed upon the Block Medical Officer to train all the doctors and paramedics of the Block in handling medical emergencies that will be managed in the Emergency Room.
Later, the Director interacted with the public delegation of Block Wakura who apprised him of other health services issues and requirements that need to be fulfilled. The Director assured them that all the issues will be resolved in a time bound manner.
