Srinagar, Apr 20: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of a noted cardiologist Dr Sajad Reshi who breathed his last Friday at Beehama Ganderbal after a prolonged illness.
Expressing profound grief over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Calling the death as irreparable loss, DAK President said medical fraternity has lost a gem of a person in the demise of Dr Sajad.
“Dr Reshi passed his MBBS from GMC Srinagar and after completing his MRCP from United Kingdom started his practice as an interventional cardiologist in Kashmir,” he said.
Dr Nisar said he was instrumental in starting interventional cardiology in the valley and made differences in lives of hundreds of patients.
“He was a compassionate and an empathetic doctor because of which he was very popular among patients,” he said.
Paying rich tributes to the legend, Dr Nisar said the demise has left a great void in the field of medicine.
“His contributions in the field of medicine will be remembered for a long time,” he said.
“Born in Reshibazar Kralteng area of Anantnag, Dr Sajad was a man of impeccable integrity.”
Terming the deceased as a noble soul, Dr Nisar said he always stood a helping hand to the needy and poor.
“He will be sorely remembered by everyone whose lives he touched,” he said.
