Srinagar, Apr 10: Two army men were killed in Pakistani Army firing along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said on Tuesday.
A defence spokesman said that Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LC).
“Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively. However, in the exchange of fire, Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma were grievously injured and succumbed to their injuries. Rifleman Vinod Singh, aged 24 years, belonged to Village Danapur, Jaurian, District Akhnoor, J&K and is survived by his father, Shri Ajit Singh,” he said.
“Rifleman Jaki Sharma, aged 30 years, belonged to Village Sanhail, Hiranagar, District Jammu, J&K and is survived by his wife, Smt Rajni Devi. Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has paid rich tributes to the two soldiers who were killed in an incident of cross border shelling in Sunderbani sector of LoC early today.
The Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved families.

While paying rich tributes to the slain soldiers, Dr Singh said that the sacrifices rendered by the valiant soldiers will be remembered for ever.
