Missing Bemina Scholar’s family holds protests again

Srinagar, July 3: The family members of missing Bemina Ph.D. Scholar Hilal Basit Dar, once again held a protest in Srinagar, on Friday, seeking an end to the alleged rumors related with missing scholar and his whereabouts.

The protestors outnumbered by women, while raising the slogans in demand of  tracing down the missing youth, were holding placards in their hands, with slogans like, ‘Save Hilal Find Him’, ‘Requesting Concerned To Step Up Efforts To Find Hilal’, ‘The Family Is In Distress’, ‘Unite Hilal With Family’ and ‘Stop Rumours About Hilal’ written on those placards.

One of women protesters told CNS that the police claim of him having joined militant ranks is baseless and they are confident that Hilal, has not joined any militant outfit.

“His nature would never allow him to join militancy and we are sure that he has not joined militancy”, she said.

“Police is making the false claim, only to evade the responsibility of tracing him”, said another protestor.

Hilal Basit, a Ph.D. scholar, went mysteriously missing on 14th June in Gangabal area of Kangan block of Ganderbal district, where he had gone on a trekking expedition a day earlier, with five more youth, who safely returned to the base camp Gangabal.

Meanwhile in a stunning revelation, IGP Kashmir on last Tuesday claimed that he had joined the Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. (CNS)
