Pigeon with ‘mysterious code’ caught at Indo-Pak border

Jammu, May 25: Border dwellers have caught a pigeon reportedly flew from across the border with ring code tagged on his body in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
Police sources here said that a pigeon painted pink was caught on Sunday evening by some locals near village Chilayari, which reportedly cross over to this side.
“It is the matter of concern that a pigeon flew to this side as birds have no boundaries but a coded ring tagged on his body is concerning,” a police official said.
He said that intelligence agencies on Monday as per reports visited to the police station where the pigeon was caged and trying to decode the mystery.
SSP Kathua Shailendra Kumar Mishra said, “Locals in Kathua captured a pigeon near Indian border fences.”
He said, “We don’t know from where it came. Locals captured it near our fences”.
“We have found a ring in its foot on which some numbers are written. Investigation is underway,” he added.
