Better to postpone marriages scheduled after Eid-ul-Fitr: Div Com Kashmir

Says if marriage dates are fixed, proper

Srinagar, May 12 (KNO): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole Tuesday urged people of Kashmir to postpone the marriages scheduled after Eid-ul-Fitr stating that given the restrictions in place in the wake of Covid, people won’t be able to celebrate marriages the way they used to earlier.

 

Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Pole said that it is better for the people to postpone the marriage ceremonies that at scheduled after Eid. “People won’t be able to enjoy the marriages, due to the restrictions in place given the Covid pandemic.

 

If marriage dates are already fixed, people must get proper permission from the concerned district magistrates and follow Covid protocol,” he said.  The Divisional Commissioner said that not more than six people should attend marriage ceremonies and that there should be no extravaganza—(KNO)
