DySP injured in Budgam clashes

Srinagar, May 8:  A police officer was injured in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday in clashes with demonstrators, who were protesting against killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Reyaz Naikoo in an encounter with security forces.
Official sources said that “scores of miscreants hit the streets at Nasrullahpora in Budgam to protest against the killing of Naikoo.”

They said when protestors were moving towards a particular area, security forces deployed in the area swung into action and stopped the demonstrators from moving ahead.

As the demonstrators didn’t back down, security forces resorted to lathingcharge and burst teargas shells to disperse the protestors, who pelted stones.
They said that Deputy Superintendent of Police Fayaz Hussain received head injury in the clashes.
