SMC Commissioner, Mayor others put under home quarantine

Wait till report of a corporator, whose brother tested positive, comes

Srinagar, May 3: Administration has asked all those to go for home quarantine who were in contact with a corporator, whose brother tested positive for COVID-19 two days ago.

The brother of the corporator Majid Rashid Shahlu had allegedly  concealed his travel history and was traced after his neighbours informed the administration. The corporator and his brother live in a same house. The corporator was attending sanitation drives along with SMC officials and employees.

Sources told KNT that SMC has issued directives to some corporators, employees and officials to go for home quarantine till the report of the corporator in question comes.

Those who will go for home quarantine include SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Matuu, Parvaiz Qadri, Corporators,  Zubair Fayaz,  Uman Maqbool,  Nazir Gilkar, Ms Shaheena,  Arif Raja, Aqib Ahmed Renzu,  Tanveer Pathan, Inayat Hussain Mir,  Saleem Lone, Aga Syed Hussaini, Danish Bhat, Muktar Ahmed,  Hanief Ahmed.
Personal and private staff of Mayor including  Sheikh Firdous,  Fida Hussain,  Firdous Ahmed and all  personal staff of Mayor and Deputy Mayor will go for home quarantine.

Besides, SMC Officers including  Gazanfar Ali (Commissioner),   Syed Abul Qasim (JCA),  Sofi Akbar (Secy, SMC), photographer teams accompanying Mayor and Deputy Mayor have also been asked to go for home quarantine.
One of the corporators, Nazir Ahmed Gilkar on Sunday distributed nutrition at Anganwari Centres. “As a councillor and chairman of Anganwari Centres of Ward 34 Basant Bagh Srinagar I distributed nutrition under ICDS Program of Social Welfare Department,” Gilkar wrote on his Facebook account.
He distributed nutrition kits at Gadoodh Bagh, Chandpora, Kralkhud, Safayar, Shalteng, Sheshyar, Agha Hamam and Bari Nambal. (KNT)
