Police act tough against lockdown violators

Arrest 4 persons, seize 26 vehicles, seal 10 shops across Kashmir

Srinagar, May 1: Acting tough against the violators, Police have arrested four persons and seized 26 vehicles for defying the government orders in Kulgam and Sopore. Police also sealed ten shops in Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that in Sopore, Police seized 15 vehicles for defying the lockdown violation orders. Accordingly, Police registered case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation into the matter.

In the jurisdiction of PS Tarzoo, Police seized 10 vehicles for violating restriction orders. In this regard, Police have registered case and initiated further investigation into the matter.

In Srinagar, Police along with Tehsildar North conducted extensive market checking drive in Hazratbal area of District Srinagar. In this connection 10 shops were sealed by Tehsildar in view of existing Govt directions.

Similarly, in Kulgam District, Police have arrested 4 persons and seized a vehicle for defying the Govt orders. Accordingly, Police have registered a case FIR No. 43/2020 under relevant sections of law against three persons in Police Station Qazigund and has started investigation into the matter.

In the jurisdiction of DH Pora, Police have arrested a person for violating lockdown orders. In this regard Police have registered a case FIR No. 55/2020 under relevant sections of law in Police Station DH Pora and has initiated further investigation into the case.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restriction orders will be dealt strictly.
