2 IPS officers of J&K cadre to hold ADG level positions at Centre

Srinagar, Apr 29: The Government of India has empanelled two IPS officers of Jammu & Kashmir cadre to hold additional director general or its equivalent posts at the Centre.

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet(ACC) has cleared a proposal for empanelment of IPS officer of 1991 batch for holding ADG/ADG equivalent positions.

Two IPS officers of J&K –R.R. Swain and Arun Kumar- figure in the list of 17 officers cleared by the powerful panel headed by Prime Minister. While Swain is on deputation with Ministry of External Affairs from 2016, Choudhary is posted as  ADGP Armed Police.

Empanelment is the process of drawing up a list of officers from the All-India Services for possible selection to positions at Centre. It relates strictly to suitability for holding posts under the Central Government.

It is worthwhile to mention here that two J&K cadre IAS officers were recently posted as secretaries in central government departments.

According to an order issued by  the Department of Personnel and Trainings, Pradip Kumar Tripathi, special secretary and establishment officer, department of Personnel and Trainings has been posted as  secretary Ministry of Steel  upon superannuation of present incumbent Binoy Kumar on 31-05-2020.

Sudhanshu Panday, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industries was posted as secretary Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs , Food and Public Distribution—(KNO)
