Shopian, Apr 17: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at Dairoo, Keegam in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday, KNO reported.
It said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants joint team of forces including 44 RR launched search operation in the area.
“As the joint team of forces intensified search operation militants hiding in the area fired upon the forces which was retaliated triggering an encounter, in which two militants were killed,” the news agency said.
Meanwhile, forces have also cordoned of the nearby Mughal Pora village, just 1 km from Dairoo, the encounter site. Further details are awaited.
